The Bloody Mary is one of the most popular cocktails in the western world, a Virgin Bloody Mary simply means it contains no alcohol. This mocktail variant is a classic with a twist, a Virgin Bloody Mary with Hemp Hearts recipe. These nutritious cocktails contain an abundance of tastes including spicy, savory, and salty. It's ideal if you don't want to drink alcohol but still prefer to indulge in a cocktail. If you'd prefer an alcohol-based Bloody Mary feel free to add some vodka.

Virgin Bloody Mary with Hemp Recipe

 2 cups tomato juice, preferably low sodium
 2 tbsp lemon juice
 ¼ cup olive brineor you could use dill pickle juice depending on you preference
 1 tsp hot sauce
 1 tbsp horseradish
 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
 ¼ tsp celery seeds
 1 pinch or slightly more of cayenne pepper depending on your tastes
 4 celery stalks with leaves attached
 1 lemon quartered (4 wedges)
 olives

Virgin Bloody Mary with Hemp Hearts Directions

First, we want to grind up the hemp hearts by adding them to a blender along with the tomato juice. Blend for approx. 10 to 15 seconds.

Combine the following ingredients into a large container such as a pitcher: the tomato juice with hemp hearts, lemon juice, olive brine or pickle juice, hot sauce, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, celery seeds, and cayenne.

To serve, pour 2/3 cup into 4 glasses filled with ice. Garnish each Bloody Mary with a celery stalk, olives, and one of the lemon wedge.

Serve and enjoy! Please note this makes 4 servings and Bloody Mary drinks do well with shelf life, they will last on average 4 or 5 days if refrigerated.
