Porridge is a great and delicious breakfast if you can eat oats and grains that is. Many of us can not eat oats and grains for digestive reasons, and some of us are on restricted diets of our own choosing such as a keto diet. Luckily hemp hearts act in a similar fashion as oats and can be substituted. Now those on a grain-free or keto diet can enjoy porridge as well. This recipe is quick and easy enough to make for even a beginner in the kitchen.
Add all ingredients EXCEPT the ground almonds and toppings to a small or medium saucepan. Stir until well mixed, then heat over low to medium heat, just until it begins to boil lightly. No need to cover.
Once the porridge starts "bubbling" lightly, stir and leave to cook for another 1-2 minutes.
Remove porridge from the heat, stir in almond flour, then empty into a bowl. Top with toppings and serve immediately.
