Banana Walnut Cake Ingredients
Banana Walnut Cake Recipe Directions
Start by preheating the oven to 350°F
In a large mixing basin, combine the flour, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the banana, butter, eggs, hemp hearts, brown sugar, milk, and vanilla extract.
Combine the wet and dry components. Gently mix until only faint streaks of flour remain. Fold in walnuts gently until flour is absorbed.
Divide the batter into two 8-inch baking pans lined with parchment paper. Bake the cake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. This normally takes between 20 and 25 minutes. Allow cakes to cool for 15 minutes in the pans before transferring to a wire rack to cool fully.
Cake Icing: In a stand mixer, combine cream cheese and butter, or use a large mixing bowl and electric beaters. Whip on high until fully smooth. Mix in the vanilla extract. Add powdered sugar in small amounts, mixing on low speed until combined. Refrigerate or use immediately.
On a serving dish place one cake layer. Cover evenly with Cream Cheese icing. Spread the remaining icing over the top and edges of the second layer. If desired, top with more walnuts and hemp hearts.
